Hi everyone.

Last week I was supposed to share on the Verse of the Week, but because of time constraints, I didn't get to. Sad lar, cos this verse was so in line with what Ming shared in cell on the 5th I almost wanted to squeal in incredulity (I bet God and coincidence teamed up to mess with my head).

So anyway, here goes.

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial,
because when he has stood the test,
he will receive the crown of life that God has promised
to those who love Him.

James 1:12

Nice right? I've always been touched by this verse, cos this becomes a motto you live by. Whenever you get beaten down, you can always hold your head up high and know that no matter what happens to you, as long as we persevere, we'll receive eternal life.

There are two trials that come our way:
  1. FROM THE DEVIL. When we mature in Christ and begin to serve Him in ways more than one, we naturally become enemies of Satan. We develop a reputation in Hell for being warriors of God, and the devil will have us wanted, dead or alive. He will try all sorts of means to put you down and discourage you from doing the work of God. How cruel is that la?? I HATE HIM (and we all should... btw).

  2. FROM GOD. Yes, you heard that right. When we begin to ask for more faith to put His desires above ours and to expand His Kingdom, God may/will allow trials to come your way to test you (He never sends them). He's basically testing our resilience for Him. He's waiting to see if we would go "Why God did you let this happen to me? I hate you!" or "I praise you, Lord, for though you are self-sufficient, you still choose to bother and care about me this way." It's like Prefect Camp, where your seniors push you to see how far you would go for the Board. Same goes for God.
Yup. Hope you guys have become enlightened, lol. See you guys (all of you, hopefully) this coming Saturday! (:
